Sr. Mechanical Engineer-PE

Mechanical Engineer with 8-10 years of experience – registered PE

RESPONSIBILITIES

Management Duties:

  1. Ensure junior staff, designers, and drafters meet established deadlines.
  2. Ensure a high quality of work and make sure all direction has been followed and coordinated throughout the project documents.
  3. Energy modeling and paperwork responsibilities including  Equest, LCCA, ECCS, ECC EZ.
  4. Mentor junior staff to develop their individual skills for career development.

 Primary Duties:

  1. Maintain a NCEES Record and mechanical Professional Engineering registration in the states where MMT does business, currently MA, NH, CT, and RI.
  2. Develop mechanical engineering solutions that meet code requirements and serve the client’s needs.
  3. Perform field surveys of existing conditions.
  4. Draft investigative surveys and feasibility reports for mechanical scopes of work.
  5. Perform load calculations using engineering best practices.
  6. Conceptualize, design, and oversee construction of building mechanical systems, including limited plumbing and fire protection.
  7. Lead Designers and draftspersons in the creation of the project drawing set.
  8. Develop technical specifications for all projects that include HVAC design and the front end in all mechanical-only projects. MMT uses RIB SpecLink software.
  9. Develop construction cost estimates.
  10. Coordinate design with other disciplines including architectural and civil, electrical, and fire protection engineers.
  11. Working with the Project Manager to provide construction administration services for mechanical work

 Secondary Duties:

  1. Coordinate with the CAD Manager to maintain an up-to-date Mechanical CAD detail library.
  2. Coordinate with the Office Manager to ensure the office has up-to-date mechanical engineering resources such as software, codes, references, etc.
