LUCIUS CLAPP HISTORICAL BUILDING
Lucius Clapp Historic Building was designed by Walter Atherton and built in 1903. It is in the National Register of Historic Places. Designed as a library, it now houses the Stoughton Historical Society.
This project fully restored the building’s 1903 wood windows and doors and provided new storm window protection. By use of historic photographs and postcards, the front entry doors and transom were recreated to replace the 1960s storefront installation.
The replacement door best replicates the historic door depicted in a historic postcard.
